I came over to USA on a visa waiver, meaning I had to return within three months to the UK...How long must I wait in the UK to return to USA where I have bought a house?

  1. A few days.  The fact that you left is the more important thing.  As long as you keep leaving the country before your three months are up, you can come back in as often as you want.

  2. You can't use the visa waiver to live in America. You need to be able toprove that your life is in the UK and that you only visit America.

If you want to visit for a longer period of time you could apply for a B2 visitors visa that would let you visit for up to 6 months but you would still have to spend at least 6 months each year in the UK.

There's a website called British Expats where I think you can get more information about how to spend as much time as you can here without risking being denied entry.

The fact that you own a house here makes it look like you plan to immigrate and immigrant intent is one sure way to be denied entry.

  3. You should stay out for as long as you were in the US, otherwise immigration in the US will think that you are trying to live/work in the US.
