How long before Kimbo fights someone who worthy of mian event status?

Question

Let's just say that Kimbo is worthy of being in the main event (if for no other reason than fans are willing to pay to see him there). When is he going to fight someone who also deserves (has actually earned it and can be called a true test) to be in the main event? Is there any word?

BTW Thompson was not done.

I agree with you that Thompson wasn't done.  He was close to being done. But  think with that fight being on Network TV that they were being cautious.  

I also think they are hand picking his fighters right now because he is their meal ticket.

his next fight  vs bret rodgers.  it not about be worthy. its about it being a good fight.   thompson was as close to done as you can be, without being done

it will be a long time before he faces anyone legit.  EliteXC knows that Kimbo is a C level fighter.  If they allow him to face good talent, he will lose.  That would be bad for their ratings, and risks losing a lot of the fan base that he has developed.

For Kimbo to become a good fighter, he still needs some fights against lower talent.  This will allow Bas Rutten to keep up his trainging so that his skill set will improve.

Unless Tito Ortiz signs with Elite and moves up to the HWD, or Kimbo signs with the UFC, or more than likely what really would happen that would cause Kimbo to fight real competition is for EliteXC to go under. You will never see Kimbo fight top fighters. He is to old to get good enough to take on the top tier. He is being smart by taking the money until people realize he isn't worth watching until he gains more experience. I would love to see him get some experience. Which is doing correctly by working out with Bas at Extreme Couture. But the likelihood that be gets the experience and still compete is slim.

Maybe he will fight Brett Rodgers next.

BTW: Tompson would have been done with the next punch. I was more pissed that the Lawler- Smith fight was stopped early.That was the best fight of the night, followed by Gina.
