  1. They'll tell you be there 30 minutes ahead of departure time.

    But, unless at an initial station, departure times start to fall off insofar as "on time" performance, so, if at an intermediate station, you must check with Amtrak to see how late the train may be running before heading to the station.

  2. At least 2 hours, for the mile long line, no liquids except in tiny bottles that fit in a --

    OH WAIT.  Railroads aren't airlines!   None of that garbola.  Just show up 30 minutes in advance.

  3. There is no long TSA inspections, all you need is to be there early enough to get your ticket and be ready to board on time.

    Half an hour is plenty.
