How long before a butterfly or moth comes out of its cacoon or crycalisis?

i have to 2 caterpillers turning into moths or butterflies how long untill the are done changeing and what should i do for them?

I can take months.  Leave them alone, they will emerge when they are ready.  Do not attempt to help them get free, they need that struggle to strengthen themselves and their wings.

Let Mother Nature and these creatures fulfill their natural life cycle.
