How long before departure time do i have to be in the Sydney airport for an international flight ?

It's 3 hours on most International flights.  We just returned home from a holiday in California, and we needed to check in 3 hours prior to leaving Sydney, and the same coming back from San Francisco.  Even with the 3 hours,  we almost missed our flight due to a hold up in customs, so I would try to get there as early as possible, just in case.

The rules are stipulated on your ticket. For an international flight you are required to be there at least 3 hours prior to departure to check-in.

The new online check-in system with some airlines means you can check-in at home 24hours prior to your flight and arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior. You take your luggage to the luggage counter but are already checked in.

A word of warning, if you are driving and intend to leave your car at the long term car park it can take easy 30mins for the shuttle to take to you to the international terminal. If you are parking there I suggest you allow an extra hour.

definately 3hrs because the queues for check in can get pretty long and try not to cut it too fine. best to leave just a bit earlier than you need, so that you check in then go and get coffee or last minute shopping.

it used to be 2 hours but now they suggest 3 hours before,believe me time goes real fast so do the 3

a couple of years ago it was 2 hours but it might of changed! so to e on the safe side look it up on the net or ring and ask thier hotline!
