How long before exercise should you eat a powerbar?

I play soccer and i usually need a little extra energy. How long before i play should i eat a powerbar?

  1. The first answer is correct....eat it about 30 min to an hour before you're game.

    This is the perfect window for your body to have enough time to begin using the sugars, carbs, and protein to fuel your workout.


  2. i know it sounds crazy, but at least 2 hours before.

    when i ran track i threw up because of running too much & i ate right before i ran. =/

    but yeah, at least 2 hours before.

    gives your stomach time to settle down.

  3. I like giving myself a half hour, experiment and find what works best for you.  It is different for everyone, if you want something that works a little faster you could try a gel.

    I find they are just gooey and full of sugar. Why dont you just eat a banana 30 to 60 minutes before.
