I'm 1DPO, and if I'm pregnant this month should I begin taking prenatal/folic acid vitamins now? Also, would taking B vitamins be beneficial as well?

  1. I agree, if you are ttc you should have already started taking folic acid and prenatals.  I would recommened that you start asap.

B vitamins can help certain areas of ttc, but only really need to be taken on a need basis,  eg: I am taking B6 to increase my luteal phase.

    Good Luck and babydust!

  2. If you are trying to conceive, you should start taking folic acid or prenatal vitamins now. Doctors recommend to be on it for at least 3 months before getting pregnant to help fight against birth defects.

B vitamins can also help, but aren't necessary.

  3. folic acid when not needed is flushed out of your body. Good Luck in getting pregnant x*x

  4. There was an article on Yahoo! a while back that taking folic acid for at least a year before getting pregnant may supposedly lessen the risk of miscarriage... However, they all say to take it 3 months before trying.
