  1. Peppers are like old men and take their time.  Mine this year have taken their sweet three months to even grow any peppers!  Must be all the below-normal summer temperatures this year as peppers like constant 80-85F weather best, with warm, moist soils.

  2. I grow some Charleston Hot Peppers in my office at work under a light.  I used enriched potting soil and keep them perfectly watered.  SInce there isn't any wind in the office, I have to "dust" the flowers with a soft brush to stir up the pollen and germinate.  After the blooms fall off, I see pepper buds in about 7-10 days.  The pepper gets to be full-size in about 2-3 weeks and then "ripens" to the heat level I need in another 2-3 weeks.  They are fun to watch (and better to eat).
