How long between contractions before you go to the hospital ?

5 Mins. is what Dr.s say. I just go when they become more intense... But I live very close to the hospital.

You are supposed to go when your contractions get to be 5 minutes apart.

my dr said 5 mins apart each lasting 1 min.

Don't go to the hospital!  But if you have to learn to check yourself (or your partner) and go when your at least 4 cm or else they could induce you or you could get an epi too soon and it would slow down the labor.

My doctor told me there is no magic number, but to wait until at least 5 mins apart.  She said if the are 5 mins and you feel like you can stay home longer then do so, and if they are 6 mins apart and you feel like you absolutely need something for the pain then to go in.  She also told me that most first time moms come in before they have to and are sent home, so just see how you feel at 5 mins and make a decision then.  Good luck!!!

No less than five minutes.  If you go in sooner they could send you home...but she could also go very fast.  I went from 15 minutes apart to 5 minutes apart within 20 minutes and my kid was born shortly there after.
