  1. NOT at acceptable at all.  Access is required at ALL times for residents and Emergency Services.

  2. as long as you want providing no one want by...i advise ,i f u can, pick a time that you think it will be the least used, thesrs no point of causing hastle......thats what i recon anyway

  3. 20 mins.

  4. As long as the job takes!! If you are using a "Hi-ab" you will have to extend the stabilising jacks as well thus blocking the road.  It is up to the customer to arrange with the local authority any closures or diversions - not the driver so carry on doing it , & pay back all those poxy tractor drivers as well!!

  5. i think you will  find you can get away with up to around 20 min's before action is taken against you

it may pay to  ask tjr local council to arrange a time for unloading the vehicle as it is still an offence to  obstruct the highway but tehy can use  both police and traffic wardens to divert traffic temporarily. worth a phone call at least. do make sure you have everything to hand eg forklift .helpers etc to minimise disruption.

  6. You can't without prior permission from the police or local council.

  7. About 15 minutes is just about acceptable, any longer and i'd advise you to contact the council for diversion signs.

  8. Hi Alan you have 20mins nomatter where you are

  9. If you know that you are going to block the road completely you should inform the police that you will do so and for how long you reckon it will be blocked
