How long can I record on a 1 gb SD card?

Using a digital camcorder, approximately how much time can I record continuously on a 1gb SD card or 512 mb SD card?

It depends on the format and compression that you use. Depends on your camcorder codec usage, you can record video on your card and there is not any standard for it. But look in your camcorders setting that says if you use a specified compression, you can record a specified time on the memory.

Usually in Normal mode, you can record up to 120 minutes ( to burn in on a DVD), in economy mode, 80 min or less and in Extra mode 24 min.
