How long can a VIDEO be in a 1 gig memory card?

Ok so to put my videos on youtube I need to buy a separate memory card for my video camera. Can someone please tell me about how long a video can be in a 1 gig memory card? 30 minutes? 1 hour? 15 minutes? and if some of you could tell me what brand I could get and what size. (I'm looking for a card that can hold about 1 hour of footage)

it depends on what quality of film you wanna shoot.  With my tiny camera, i have a 2 gig stick and with the lowest setting i can film over1hr 30min, and with highest setting up to like, 30minutes, maybe a little more? i dunno.

Most people consider DV to be good quality video. That uses a data rate of 25 mbps. A miniDV tape will give you 1 hours of video.

A 1 gig card will hold about 6 minutes of DV quality video. For 1 hour you will need either a 10 gig card or to compress the bejeebers out of the pictures. you decide.
