You can only lose your Australian citizenship if you take up another which doesn't allow for dual citizenship.

India comes to mind as an example

Once you have Australian citizenship no-one can take that away from you unless proved it was obtained by fraud.

Australian residency can be taken away from you so if away for extended periods re-entry to Australia maybe denied.
