How long can a dog go without water?

seen something pretty sad .today,went a beach to the far end of the island ,no houses for miles and miles just dry hot bushes 97 f , some homeless in the start,and on the way back 1.pm back I seen a medium size puppy,running on the side of the road. what sad is it had a muzzel on .tried to get the dog but it ran deep in the bushes so afraid, went about a mile down the road to see if any homeless lost a dog,said they also seen and tried the catch the dog and this was early morning.

has to be some one brought that dog to the beach and some how lost it .

by it having a muzzle on id say its lost & scared, the muzzle needs to be removed tho. Contact the local authorities & SPCA or animal control.

That is sad & disturbing!  Call the animal control in that town & tell them where the puppy was.  I hope they can catch him.  Dehydration can happen in as little as 24 hours.  On a hot sunny day at the beach, that dog is in trouble with a muzzle on.

Call animal control and they may be able to set a trap for the dog. A muzzled dog can't effectively cool itself by panting in 97 degree heat, let along drink or eat. This is a painful death sentence for the dog if it can't be caught.

Get a hold of the local ASPCA they are more capable of at least catching the pup and giving it food and water as well as finding the owner.
