  1. If you are married to a Vietnamese national, in a ceremony recognized by the government of Viet Nam, I am pretty sure you can get a resident visa. If you are not married to a VN national, then you need to get a yearly, preferably multiple entry visa, on the order of $250 per year.

Your spouse will be able to buy a house / apartment, you will not be able to do so directly. That particular law is being considered for change (a Vietnamese friend sent me an article about it some months back) but I am sure it is still in process.

If you are thinking of getting married or are already married to a Vietnamese national, she should check with the VN embassy in your country of residence, or check with the appropriate ministry in VN to get the details. The biggest issue is probably having a marriage that is recognized by the govt of VN.

  2. call the diplomats..

  3. It is possible to apply for a multiple entry visa for up to 6 months.  The fee is $200.00 if you apply yourself.

There are ways to stay in vietnam indefinetely along with applying for permanent residence.

Google the Term Expat Vietnam or Expatriot Vietnam and you will find numerous web sites that link to the information you are looking for.

    See below for examples.

  4. Who would want to live in Vietnam? Jungles, rain, bugs, rice, yuck.

You need to check with the laws in their country.
