  1. I too have a plant inside my house since I tried this at my own home plants live without water and sunlight only for three days the most some plants like palmeras if your familiar with it it can live for a week.  It is ok to have a plants at home even your out of town but make sure not to exceed a week because plants varies some last a week other 3 days the most. plant under the family of cactus can survive for a week. my plant at home is an ornamental plant which survives for 3days after that I make sure that I can put it outside for sunlight and water it for a couple of days before bringing it inside my home.

  2. I would water it good before you left....you can use those aquaglobes or even take a coke bottle, insert a tube or small piece of pipe (like 5-10 inches )and seal the reast of the hose with either silicon or glue (depending on how big of a gap), fill it with water and stick the pipe down in the soil with the bottle upside down. It will water it'self as it dries out because the air will begin to flow through the roots and up the pipe which will release small amounts of water!

  3. clovery and 3 leaves? is it poison ivy or oak. House plants can last up to 2 weeks without water if they are not in direct sunlight. Remember time will very on temps of the house as well if you left the thermostat on 75 they will do better than on 85. The heat is not what causes the stress it is the constant sunlight with the over production of photosynthesis as the plant is always feeding itself this with combined heat and a lack of hydration is what will lead to faster wilting. So remember going on vaction no direct sun light for more than a couple of hours and keep in a cool area( not a window sill)

  4. A week won't kill it.But if you want to be clever, get a small plastic bottle.Fill with water, and reverse the bottle into the plant soil.the plant will take moisture from the slowly leaking bottle. Then you can relax and enjoy yourself.
