How long can a migraine last?

I have had a headache for 9 days now. I went to the doc at 6 days and he said it is a migraine and gave me a scrip for midrin I still have the headache .how long can this last? what else could it be?

  2.   I had a migraine for 19 years. My Doctor recommended a divorce. It worked.

  3. if it is a migraine and it has lasted this long I would suggest a trip to urgent care or er.  they will run some tests and hopefully give you a shot for the pain.  

  4. Typically they can last from a few hours to 4-5 days. Nine days seems rather lengthy, if I were in your shoes, I'd go back to your doctor, tell him the Midrin isn't effective and look further into the situation. He/she should order some blood tests and a CAT scan or a MRI.

    Migraines are vascular in nature and usually on one side of the head. Perhaps your doctor misdiagnosed the malady. Regardless, the situation should be re-diagnosed.
