What is the maximum length of time a suicide exclusion can be for life insurance?

Does a life insurance policy have to pay up for suicides, or can they put in the policy that they will not cover suicides?

  1. They can do both, most have a 2 year wait.  Just look at the contract in the para lable suicide


  2. Depends on the policy, some exclude ever paying for suicide, and if you are having even remote thoughts in that direction, do please talk to someone.

  4. some group policies will exclude, but most individual will be 2 years.  Obviously if someone is contemplating suicide as the reason for the purchase of the insurance they'll likely not make it the two years.
