How long can cooked rice be left out, or what?

If it is in a covered pot and the temperature isn't too high, 24 hours max, but it needs to be reheated properly.

It can sit on the counter for 12 hours if you so desire.

I never put stuff into the fridge until it is completely cooled off. I prefer the non frost free appliances and things must be cooled down before putting in or I get a huge frost problem fast.

Non Frost Free fridge and freezers use less electricity than the automatic defrosting ones. But if you have the automatic defrosting, it still pays not to put hot foods or even very warm foods in it as it makes the defrosting action run and this runs up the cost of the appliance.

rice wont turn bad if left out at room temperture but i would but in fridge within a few hours

It is normally still edible after 24 hours, unrefreigerated.

Best way to re-heat it is to steam it. Micowaving is fine but the rice turns out more dry.
