How long can evaporated milk stay fresh?

i just opened a can of evaporated milk, how long can it stay fresh? what should i do to make it last longer?

how much water should i put in to make a cup of milk?

usually it's 1/2 water 1/2 milk, to make a cup.

Once opened it lasts max 5 days - 7 days before going bad. Don't use it after a week even if it doesn't smell. Don't take the risk.
