How long can i keep cooked oatmeal?

I am a former chef and in Scotland they use it like grits in the US and polenta in Italy when they make to much, it can be used to flavour meatloafs/meatballs, evey a soup as a thickener, I like to press mine and cook it in a pan with a bit of butter as my side starch with a pork chop or sausages.
