How long can i store hard boiled eggs in a masonry jar?

i want to store eggs for a long period of time, i thought this would be a good method. but what is the shelf life, and what do you recommend to extend it?

  1. Fill the jar with water

    then put in the eggs

    you can also use vinagar


  2. Not more than a week or two, and you will have to keep them cool.

  3. I'm guessing you mean  "Mason" jars (a brand of canning jars), and not a container made from bricks?

    Eggs are perishable. Unwashed, they will keep in the shell for about 5 weeks in the fridge. You may also freeze eggs; either blending whole eggs, or separating the yolks and whites.

    Pickling eggs is another option, but as always, carefully follow a safe and tested canning recipe because of the extremely high risk of botulism.

  4. They will keep in a mason jar in water for about a week. Or you can pickle them and keep them for months.
