How long can i take senna tea with no problems?

how long is it safe to take every day without messing up my bowels?

please dont say its unhealthy just answer if you know

the herb senna is a powerful laxative. I would not advise you to continue for more than one week. and do only take it once a day.

there are three reasons why you shouldn't continue for longer:

- laxatives give you doarrhoea, which means that your body loses water,plus many water soluble nutrients that might actually help youlose weight (i'm guessing thats why you want to start using senna leaves!!)

-this will result in dehydration, which also slows down your metabolism, and you might even have reduced mental function, unless you supplement with a normal saline drip!!

-your gut will get dependant on the laxative effect of senna leaves (the body has an amaizing ability to adapt!!!) and then you will actually need laxatives to pass stools!!

unless you actually intend on using it as a laxative because eating healthy and increasing fiber content (e.g. veggies or psylum husk capsules), i wouldn't advise you to use senna leaves!!
