How long can it take to get pregnant for the first time?

My husband and I will be married 1 year this coming October and we feel that this is the best time to start our family. I know it can take a little while to get pregnant but what I was wondering was does it take longer to get pregnant for the first time or is it easier? We only started trying and I have been following what my doctor told me to do.

for people who want it it seems to take longer. Ive been trying for 4 months now and nothing yet,

as long as your doing as the doctor told you its just a waiting game.... a long annoying waiting game.

say your prayers and make sure hes not masturbating too much because that can lower your odds.

It's different for everyone. No one can really answer this question for you. It took my parents nearly 10 years to get pregnant with me. For my husband and I it only took  a few months. For others it's taken 4-5 years. It just depends on you and your husband and your fertility.

to be very honest to you, couples who do a long family planning of not having a baby for atleast 3 years and more do take a while to conceive when they think the time is right. I was very fertile, but took me 3 months to conceive after 3 years of marriage. And now I'm pregnant with a boy and a girl twin pair. it all depends on the right time, as very thing is nature based.

I'm sure you are not far away to get the good news, keep on trying that's what i can say...good luck

It really depends! My husband and I got pregnant with our first rather quickly....but when we tried to have our second it took 10 months! No reason really on why we are both healthy and young but sometimes it can just take awhile! You can never plan it out exactly right!  Just make sure whenever you start trying that you are ready RIGHT then! Dont plan for it to take 3+months!

It really just depends. My dad was conceived the first time his parents ever had s*x. There is absolutely no way to know how long it will take.

I think its because you really desire the first one. I am trying now but Im having problems conceiving, Ive been trying for a year, and I know the problem is because Im trying to hard! Maybe with the second one you can relax because you know you already have one and dont worry so much that you cant conceive!
