Okay I'm feeling very discouraged here. Me and hubby bd a few times (I think) 4 days before I believe I ovulated. Do you think there were still enough of them alive to fertilize the egg?

  1. It is good to have s*x 48 hrs or closer to the time you ovulate. You want to wait a day or 2 before you believe you ovulate so that the sperm count is up.

here is a link for you to read more on it.

I have done a lot of research on this.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Max 5 days.  The better quality cm the better chance for survival.  Also higher probability of conceiving a girl -- The girl sperm are heavier and therefore are slower swimmers to get to the egg.  However they survive longer than the male sperm, so if the egg comes along later there's a better chance that only female sperm are left.

    Baby dust all over!

  3. Sperms usually live between 5-7 days. Boy sperms are fast swimmers, but die faster. Girl sperms are slow swimmers and live longer.

  4. Sperm usually only lives for about 72 hours.

  5. Sperm can live from 5-7 days. So your chances are 50/50. Lots and Lots of baby dust!!!!

  6. i was told sperm live up to 72 hours. Thats why most doctors recommend when your ttc to have s*x everyother day. Goodluck
