How long can they hold my check?

Question

if i dont pick up my check today which is friday

can i just pick it up next time they get paid because imma go outta the city for two weeks.

??

or can they like throw it out?

If you can't pick it up, I'd call and ask what their policy is or make arrangements to have it held.

It's up to company policy.  Some employers will hold checks, some will mail them if not picked up.  Either way, if you worked, you will still get paid, so they should not throw it out. Most states have escheatment laws, and if you wait six months to collect it, you'll be asking the state for the money, not the employer.
