How long can tropical fish live without food?

I gotta go on for vacation for like a week so how long can fish live without eating food....if not long...what should i do??

That depends on the size, conditions, water condition and a few other factors. A large fish such as a 15 inch oscar could probably go for over 6 months with out eating if it were healthy but a small fish like a neon tetra probably could not go more than a month without eating before it could not survive.

Usually they will be fine without food for a week, but if you're worried you can buy gradual feeder things at the petstore for a few dollars that last a week.  

Just definately DONT put lots of food in, overfeeding is more likely to kill a fish than undereating.

If you're worried you could try those 7 day feeders, sold in most pet stores (the huge pellets shaped like fish or whatever)

They can go a week,,don`t worry..

I was gone for 10 days once and they were all fine when I got home.

there are weekend feeders you can buy  why not ask one of your friends o come over and feed them for you

just ask a freind or your dad or something to go to your house and feed it like once every other day
