How long can you hold your breath for?

And when giving info say how old are you! Curious research =)

I'm 16 and I can hold my breath to a max of 40 seconds...

It depends on where you are. I can hold my breath for 1min and 42 sec on land. Underwater, I can only hold my breath for 1 min and 2 sec. The reason for this is because underwater, you have more presure on your lungs. But, you must also consider that there is a wide variety of people. I can hold my breath fairly long because I am a swimmer. I also played the saxophone for awhile. I also have huge lungs  : )

10yrs and i can swim 25 metres without taking a breath and i am a swimmer.
