How long can you keep spaghetti and meatballs in the fridge?

My girlfriend made spaghetti with huge meatballs about 4 days ago and ive had the left overs in the fridge(not freezer) ever since. How long can I keep it in there and it still be good? Should I of put it in the freezer from the get go, or should I put it in there now? How long is it good in the freezer?

4 days is too long for sure....Personally, I won't eat leftovers older than 24 hours.....Yes, putting it in the freezer would have been ideal...then it is good for one reheat.....On the inside of your freezer, have a look for a sticker with general guides on freeze lengths for different foods....

"Hot foods should be refrigerated as soon as possible after cooking (within two hours). Don't keep food if it's been standing out for more than two hours. Don't taste-test it, either. Even a small amount of contaminated food can cause illness.

Date leftovers so they can be used within a safe time. Generally, they remain safe when refrigerated for three to five days. If in doubt, throw it out, "It's not worth a food-borne illness for the small amount of food usually involved."

lol. i was just browsing questions and without even thinking about it found myself completely in the same situation! (i wasn't even remotely concerned over the fact i intended to have it for dinner until i read this question) however, despite everyone's warnings.. i'm thinking i'm still going to have it but only because i'm really big on not wasting food - the left over was intended for my sister and now i'm just bugging cos she hasn't had it and i'm offended. s***w it, that spaghetti is mine (quick fix before i go out to eat properly) that and we have a really powerful fridge that somehow and miraculously manages to freeze our cucumbers =/
