How long can you receive food stamps for?

I work at a grocery store (no I am not on food stamps) and I've always wondered if there is a certain amount of time that someone receives food stamps for?

For example, can you only be on them for 2 years? Or can you just get them until you are no longer in need of them?

  1. Dear God society, I get food stamps.  Every freakin day I apply for positions here in Lexington, KY.  I have not 1, but 2 college degrees.  So, whtz up with that.  I hate Lexington, people are so rude and to get a job anywhere, you have to know somebody.  UK is the worst place to descriminate for job hirings.  I know, I experienced the whole deal of being descriminated aganist, and lied to.  So, I hope to be on food stamps as long as idiots in human resources positions in businesses here in KY wish to be idiots and for as long as they want to pay for my food stamps.

See, like I applied for a position just this last week, well actually 2 positions, and god, I hate the hiring processes of businesses in Lexington, the Government does need to step in in job control.....or else....I will be on food stamps for the rest of my life, and you can pay for them.

It's not worth me continuing my education, especially here in Lexington KY, there are no jobs.

I have applied to so many places.  Even the job WIA system here in Lexington can't help...

I've applied to so many places....I was volunteering at a hospital....but all that led to as doing employees' work for nothing....the employees were acrually taking advantage of me.....what did I get?   NOTHING!!!!  spent money for gas to get there, and I was showing up when employees were calling off....so I heard the other employees talking......and it was costing me too much to volunteer....don't get me wrong....I enjoyed it...but I was not willing to spend 25$ in gas a week to travel to the hospital.....why couldn't the hospital have offered transit bus tokens?  anyway.....I did enjoy the volunteer.   But let me telll you, as I was volunteering, I applied for positions at this hospital....stating on my application my faithful volunteer services....and I was not even called for an interview........so go figure.....maybe some think that the volunteer services at this hospital is a sign of GREED on behalf of the hospital........hummmmm......makes ya wonder.....the hospital is suppose to be an upstanding hospital of the Catholic faith.   I bet the pope would be upset to hear that the hospital refused to help the volunteers get off food stamps.....and hire other people instead of the volunteers who have actually gained experience and really do learn how to do the job.  I don't know.  America creates many monsters.
