As a "normal" visitor for 3 months, as mentioned. Theoretically you really can move along Europe changing the country every two months, for ever...

There are some possibilities to get a residential permit, specially if you are sent to Switzerland by a US company.

Three months as a visitor, more than that you need a residence permit. Tip: All you have to do to renew your 3 months is step into a neighbouring country and get said passport stamped.
