How long can you survive in a desert naked?

I just moved to AZ from NC and was told it would only take 10 minutes to die if you were naked in the desert. I highly doubt this is true but I'm just curious as to how long it would really take.

With adequate food and water, decades, same as you would wearing clothes, as long as you didn't spent too much time exposed to the sun.  Longer than you would survive in the sun with dark clothes.  If your body was acclimated to lots of sun exposure, you could spend hours in the sun without even a sunburn.  That's the function of the melanin in your skin.  But longer exposures than your body is adjusted to will cause sunburn and increase risk of skin cancers.

If it gets windy. The sand will rip the skin off you bones.

As much as I like being naked, I think that be a terrible way to die.

No you wouldn't die.  Although you will have tons of blisters and sunburn all over your body.  It would be smart to look for shade though, but in the desert there probably isn't very many trees.

maybe umm it depends if its at day or night coz if its at day then u'd probably melt...and if its at night then u would freeze

There are deserts and deserts. The Sonoran and Mohave deserts are hot; the Gobi is cold. Others can be intermediate. The Tihama is disgustingly humid; most deserts are dry most of the time (rainy seasons are exceptions). If you dug down below the surface, you could get enough shade to survive, if not be comfortable in almost any desert, at any time of year.
