how long did it take for a days supply of the worlds oil to be naturally formed???

Tell you dad it takes MILLIONS of years. It takes millions of years for a sufficient mass of dead plancton to settle and be buried. It takes other millions of years for this mass to 'cook' within the earth. And finally it takes other millions of years for the lighter part of this cooked dead plancton to migrate up in a rock which will store the oil. So I will say not less than 10-20 millions year
