How long did it take to go from Paris, France to London, England in the late 1800's?

  1. Transportation developed very rapidly after 1850. From London you would take a train to Dover, take a ferry to Calais, and from there a train to Paris. Every one of these legs of the journey is short. Bad weather in the Channel always slows up ferries. With good weather, and delays due to connections, I doubt it would have taken more than 12 hours.
