  1. 5 months

  2. I took driver's training... I think it was about 6 weeks of safety, defensive driving, simulation, and rules of the road (traffic law)instruction, and several hours behind the wheel.

It took about a month to really become confident (be able to relax) behind the wheel.  The best instruction I got was from my stepmother after I had already been driving for about a year.  She taught me to always look over my shoulder before changing lanes... never trust the mirrors.  I can't tell you how many accidents I have avoided because of that.  At least one of them would have been fatal (motorcycle in my blind spot).

After driving an automatic for a while, it took a few hours in an empty parking lot to learn how to drive a stick, and another few days to really get the feel of it.  The hardest part is starting on an uphill slope, like a stop sign on a hill, without rolling back.  It takes timing and a good feel for the clutch, and the clutch in each car is different, so it always takes a few minutes to acclimate in a different car.

  3. To learn to drive took 2 hours to get used to the controls and where all the buttons are, and 8 more for practice. There ya go, 10 hours of seat time.

  4. a couple of years, on and off to get my licence because I am lazy.

  5. A year before I took my test but that was because I agreed for my partner to learn first and then teach me.

I passed first time but was pretty confident having put in a lot of driving hours.

  6. about 2 years, as I had a gap but it was expensive, I went to someone that had their own motoring school, { waste of time & money } I then went with BSM as I only had a month before my theory test ran out, I passed with them 2 months before my 50th birthday.been driving 8 years now, accident free,
