  1. My little boy is almost 5 weeks and like you I would say we are still working on it!

He has an ok routine, feeds every 21/2-3 hours in the day or up to 5 hours if he is out in the car/pram that gets him into a deeper sleep, he is up once or twice in the night to eat.

We still struggle with mornings, also the second night feed is tricky as he will fall asleep - I have tried every trick in the book to keep him awake but alas he will only wake up as soon as he is placed back in his crib aaarrrrggghh!

I have started going to a b'feeding group weekly which is great and am also getting better at pumping so soon Daddy can do the 'tricky' morning feed to help out.

  2. it does start to get  way easy soon . I am at 15 months a still going . My daughter isnt ready to ween yet

  3. I would say things should start getting way easier for you from here on out.  After a month we had a breastfeeding pretty well established.  Around two months breastfeeding was a breeze.  I could just lay down and he would nurse while I slept.... and he was able to latch on again all on his own...... if we lost our latch.  Keep the good work up..... it only gets easier!

  4. I was really lucky.  My son took to it like a champ, and we never had any problems with proper latching, sucking, etc.  I didn't realize how fortunate I was until I heard other mothers talking about what a hard time they had getting their infants to breastfeed.

  5. I would say around 6-8 weeks we both got a pretty good hang on the whole breastfeeding thing.  We did still hit a few rough patches between teething and growth spurts and we ended up with thrush twice, but here we are 13 months later still nursing!  If you've made it this far, it should be really easy from here on out.  Good luck :)

  6. it was very quick for us. my son was big and hungry when he was born and to this day we haven't had a single problem (touch wood). it does get easier the longer you do it and also baby starts "helping" soon. like he'll latch on without any support (lying down) and that's great after what feels like weeks of just sitting in a chair nursing. you're able to read or even doze a little :) so it'll get better.

  7. It took me 6 weeks to start *really* getting the hang of it and by 3 months I was a full on pro.  Good luck your almost there!  Kudos for your persistence.

  8. Took us about a month  but I saw a lactation specialist after a few weeks.  It will get easier.  Just stick with it, it is well worth it.

  9. about 7-8 weeks and it was alot easier.

  10. I don't think I will ever get it just right! but! I do keep on trying......
