How long did it take you to get pregnant with your 1st child?

Question

My husband & I have been ttc for 10 months with no sucess. I went to the doc in June & said it was to early to test because my period has always been normal & all my paps always came out out fine. I am starting to worry there could be something wrong with either me or my husband. Has anyone taken a long time to conceive even when they were ok (no infertility problems)?

With my first I don't remember because I wasn't trying but with my second I was and it took me 15 months. I also thought that maybe there was something wrong with us but everything was perfectly fine and after 15 loooong months trying I'm finally pregnant with #2!! Don't stop trying

hello! I never reply on these message boards and always read other people's questions/comments but your message hit home. You and I are on the same boat! I've been trying with my hubby for 11 months now...for me, i've been going through phases...some months i would be obsessed about getting pregnant and reading whatever i can find on ttc and at the end of the cycle when i don't achieve pregnancy, i would act like i don't care for babies anymore...i would refuse to look at strangers baby bump or some baby on the street...all i can say is that i understand what you are going through completely and that you are not alone. This road is tough and lonely. I hope you and I achieve pregnancy soon...until then, let's be happy and healthy! Hug~*

I second Glenna's answer.  The longest it took us was two months and we weren't even trying for the third.

same problem with me i havr been trying from last 8 months nothing i went to the doc she said all my test are good i donot have to worry about any thing i am so fustrated

I went to the doc after 6 months of trying.  He suggested to give it a year, which we did, with no luck. They then did a sperm count on my husband, and found it to be very low.  The doctor suggested that they take sperm from my husband and use it for artificial insemination.  If that didn't work, the next step was to be in-vitro fertilisation.  As it turned out, I got pregnant while all this was being discussed!  So, the first step is to get a sperm count done.  Good Luck!

It took us about 3 months.  We got lucky though I think.  My periods were totally out of whack, from being on the pill for 9 years...  We had s*x every second day or so and we used a sperm-friendly lube called Pre-Seed (although I'm not sure if that's what helped, its worth a try though).  It took one of my friends almost two years, neither of them had infertility problems.  She got pregnant with the second when her first was two months old!!

i only wish i was like answers one and two!LOL we have been ttc for alittle over three years with one m/c last march at 8wks....so you are not alone!this is our third month on clomid i guess we'll know in about two weeks if its on to month four good luck to us all!baby dust!!!!!this was also our first month using pre seed!

I got pregnant right when I went off birth control. But I miscarried. I'm ttc again, going on 2 months this time. It took my best friend 13 months to get pregnant and she's due next week! Good luck and baby dust to us all.

I havent had kids yet but when my mum had me she had just come off birth control and was waiting for her period and it didnt come.  She got pregnant straight away.. Baby dust to you!!

Also if you stress too much about having a baby it doesnt help.. Have you tried using an OPK? that might help..

Nope.  Sorry.  I was a fertile myrtle.  Everytime my husband sneezed, I was pregnant.  I'll give you all my babydust!  Good luck.

it took me 6 months to get pregnant but not to sure if something was wrong with me other than the irregular periods like i only got about 3 or 4 periods a year and wasnt on birth control
