How long did it take you to get used to the feeling of braces in your mouth?

Question

I just have the brackets on now and I get the wires on monday. my bite is apparently uneven which I never noticed until today. I have a total of two (2) teeth that touch now making it impossible for me to chew anything! The brackets are annoying me and wax doesn't do c**p. :P

How long will it take to get used to this and once I have my wires in how long do you think it will be until my teeth are even enough to chew?

(I only have my top row on btw)

truthfully it took me 2  weeeks i had the same problems put ice and drink hot salt water chew gum slowly it helpsss

I think that once they put the wires on the braces will feel a lot more complete and you should get used to them within a week or two (it took me about a week). I never really used the wax either, and I agree that they feel weird at first, but I promise that before long, you will feel as though they were always in your mouth. And don't worry about chewing, braces move your teeth very quickly (really, you can see different within the first few days) so your teeth will probably be even enough to chew within a week or two (plus you'll get used to having them and it won't be that big of a problem anymore). It will probably hurt for the first week (and when they get tightened, but that's shouldn't be quite as bad), so take Tylenol or whatever pain-killer works the best for you; it does help...but your orthodontist probably already told you that. =)

Lol it to me two weeks to get used to it.

and i hated how the brackets always grazed against

my cheek. i tried using that wax stuff once buit all it did

was..well nothing, and it was a mess to take out.

it was stuck in there for days :(

but yeaa,, just take advil for the pain and your bite will fit

after two weeks as well. i had the exact same problem as you.

hahaha. i just got braces on july 10th. its been.. uhh... great since. its the same for me with the wax. it doesnt do anything and it annoys me. idk. lol.

as for not being able to chew: i got both my top and bottom row on july 10th (with wires). it hurt like h**l until like 2 weeks. but then again, my teeth are already noticeably straighter. and i had RLY bad teeth :S

just stick to jello, ice cream, yogurt... anything soft. also, take an aspirin like every 6 hours.
