I had my first and last shot in April '08. I've been bleeding since June now. I just went to the doctor and decided to try and pill and hope it would regulate my system.. Whats your experience with Depo? Anyone with similar results?

  1. I was on Deprovera for 10 yrs. I remember when it was every 4 months you would get the shot and for all of that time I didn't have a period but gained weight and a few other issues. And when I stopped getting the injections it took me a long time to get a period (1 1/2 yrs.) and 5 yrs to get pregnant. If I could do it all over again I would of chosen an IUD for 10 yrs. or 5 years.

For only being on deprovera for a month its usually out of your system in a month, but again it really depends on the person and their body.

  2. i never had a normal cycle after the depo. Once on the depo i bled for a month a a half, it all depends on the person

  3. about 8 weeks

  4. yeah mine did that for the first year

  5. my doc put me on dep at the age of 36 when i filed for divorce, I had a 6 month period before she decided to stop the depo but it took another 9 months to get it out of my system, so my periods were screwed up for a total of 15 months after starting depo. A 6 month period is extreme, im told. all I know is that  it was the period from h**l.

    good luck to you
