Just curious since I'm finishing up another book and starting

Jane Eyre afterwards.

Also any comments on the book, if you like it or not.

I can't wait till the new movie adaption of Jane Eyre comes out

sometime in the next year or 2. with Ellen Page!

Thanks for your responses!

  1. It took me about five days. I wanted to take my time on it 'cause it's a classic!

  2. It took me about two days. I was on a cruise with not much else to do.

I thought it was awesome! Definitely on my list of top five best books.

  3. Forever! Four long nights, maybe 20 hours total.

I can usually read a book of this size in 6-8 hours, but it is so convoluted, the speech is stilted and awkward even for the period, and so many characters that I had to keep a score card (Literally) I had to keep re-reading passages to get them to make sense, even having to say some of them out loud.

I read period pieces quite often, I have just never been able to stomach Bronte's work. (Or Jane Austin's for that matter)

  4. It took me about two days to read it, and I loved it :)

And I didn't know they were coming out with a new movie. It should be good.

  5. It doesn't take me long nopw just a couple of days or so.  I first read this at the age of 9 and was very proud of myslf when I had read it!  It took me a month then as I had it for my birthday and I finished it the following month.

  6. It took me about a week, week and a half. It's a little bit slow starting, but picks up quickly. It's a great novel!

I didn't know about the new version with Ellen Page! That should be interesting. If you haven't seen it, you should check out the recent Masterpiece Theater version. It won some Emmys, as I recall.

  7. It took me about a week and a half.

    IT'S AN AMAZING BOOK!
