  1. Life was very short and brutal. I believe it was 25 years.


  2. 20's or 30's; the oldest probably 35 yrs old

  3. I visited the oldest cave dwelling in Europe, which was converted into a museum, and the tour guide explained that most "cavepersons" didn't live past 30, due to the harsh environment, hunting accidents, exposure, difficulties during childbirth, and disease/infections...

    That being said, there are a few specimens worldwide, which were estimated to be in their late 40's, 50's and one in their 60's!

  4. When you read about the "average life span" in earlier times it's often in the 20s. What needs to be taken into account is that most of the deaths were that of children. Infant mortality was very high. That brought the expected life span way down.

    If you graphed it, there would be a spike at birth to 5, then a decline until the 20s when it would begin to rise. If you got past childhood, odds were good that some would reach their 60s.
