  1. Well, long enough for millions, upon millions of people to die, long enough for me to say it should never of happened..... /-:

    Anyway, around six years depending on who you are referring to but the official war was around six.

    GOOD LUCK WITH THE PROJECT!! (-;

  2. Its not  hard to count from 1939 to 1945

  3. About 6 years

    People are always debating on what the starting and ending dates of the war are.  But to make it easier for you, the conventional starting date is Sept. 1, 1939 with the German invasion of Poland and the end of hostilites was Sept. 2, 1945 with Japan's formal surrender. So that's 6 years, and three days (1940 and 1944 were leap years)

  4. Roughly....... September 1939 to Mid 1945, so just over 6 years.

    Mind you technically certain parties never signed a peace agreement still it's still going on...... that's just a bit of legal trivia though not a material fact !

  5. World War II Lasted from the German invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939 to the Japanese Surrender on September 2, 1945 (official surrender aboard the USS Missouri).

    6 years and 3 days. But many historians say World War II ended on August 15, 1945 after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

  6. That all depends on who you're asking.

    Generally, September 1, 1939 - September 1, 1945 is the accepted dates. However, the Germans will invade Czechoslovakia in 1938, after legally given half of it. Or, a lot of East Asian nations will go back as far as 1931, when the Japanese will invade Manchuria, and install the Japanese puppet government of Manchuko. However, it really wasn't a "world war" until December of 1941 when the U.S. enters.

    Generally, go with the 39-45 dates. That's really when it becomes a "world war" in the sense that we think of it.

  7. It laster from 1939-1945. But Hitler came in to power and descriminted against the Jews some time before that, and the Americans didn't fight until the bombing of Pearl Harbour

  8. From September 1939 until August 1945. The US got into the war in December 1941.
