  1. 12 months.  But if you don't mind breastfeeding and your daughter still wants to then there is no reason to stop any time soon.  She is still a baby and babies her age still needs milk whether it be breastmilk, whole milk or formula.  Keep doing it as long as the both of you want to,

  2. Good for you!

I only lasted 3 weeks with my twins, and I'm pregnant with a singleton this time and I hope to breastfeed for a year minimum, 2 years maximum.

Not that there is anything wrong with nursing past 2 years but I don't want to do it.  I think 2 years and 9 months is long enough for my body to partially belong to someone else.  :-)

  3. I could only breast feed my first baby, my baby girl who's now nearly 8 lol for a month because I wasn't producing enough for her. My son however I only ever bottle-fed and he's the better eater. Better full stop really lol I personally don't like the thought of breastfeeding going on for too long.I think your daughter may seem to still need it just for the comfort, because she would get all the nutrients from her solid foods , milk isn't her first and only source of feeding now she can have solids. So maybe she likes the comfort and is snacking on you?

Sorry I hope you know what I mean it's not comin out right ..... I'm tired lol

"the world health organization says that babies should breastfeed for a minimum of 2 years."

I'm not so sure on the above statement... IN my opinion, health authorities are always changing their minds on how long we should do it, and whats best for our children. Bein a nursery nurse teacher in the whole time I have been qualified, ( nearly 11 years) it's changing all the time. I personally don't like the thought of a 2 year old still on the breast, thats up to you tho if you do that and good on ya for wanting to follow the guidelines.

Mother always knows best for baby even if it isn't whats so called "right" from medical advice. If you want to breast feed for 3 years thats up to you, if you want to stop after 3 days thats fine to, It's whatever YOU want to do.What ever mother and baby are happy with :):)

  4. First child... 13m.

Second child.... 10m She weaned herself.

    3rd child.... 18m.

Now nursing my 8 week old baby.

  5. First one almost 12 months, second just after his 2nd birthday.  Maybe she does need it.

  6. I am 5 months in and still going strong...

  7. I breastfed my first until she 11 months old but only because I was expecting my second in 2 months and wanted to break her of it. My second is only 3 weeks old and I will probably do it for a year if not longer, unless she decides before than she no longer wants it.

  8. i breast fed 4 months then i pumped for another 2 months and gave formula after 6 months. i  became pregnant again.....

  9. I breast fed for 2 weeks, then pumped for four months.

I wasn't producing enough to feed two babies, so I gave up and had a drink ;)

  10. My first one I breastfed for 14 months and only quit then because I was pregnant and my milk dried up.  The next one I breastfed until he was about 18 months and he just kind of lost interest.  I would have continued, but I was following his lead in it.

  11. i nursed my son to 26 months.  my daughter is going strong at 8 months and i plan to go to at least 2 years with her.  the world health organization says that babies should breastfeed for a minimum of 2 years.

  12. My baby turned 1 on the 6th and we're still going at it.  No signs of stopping.

  13. My wife breastfed for five months

  14. My first BF baby nursed for 2 1/2 years and I'm nursing my 22 month old.
