had my baby boy 3 weeks ago and would like to no how long did you have your period for after giving birth?

I think I got my period at around 5 weeks or so after birth.I also did not breastfeed.My milk came in Monday & was completely gone by Saturday.I had them bound & in a really tight bra.I did not take it off,but to shower.I took Ibuprofen for the pain as well.Good luck & Congrats on your little bundle.

I'm almost 9 weeks post partum and I haven't gotten my period yet!  I'm getting a bit nervous, too, since I have had s*x.  

I haven't pumped in probably 4 weeks or so, and my b***s still leak occasionally.

I got my period about 4 weeks after I gave birth and it lasted just as long as it had before I was pregnant.  The milk didn't come in until about 4 days after birth.  The pain lasted for about 4 days and the milk finally stopped after a couple of weeks.  I just wore pads in my bra and they just leaked a little after the initial few days.

my period came about 3 months after giving birth, i expressed breast milk for 7 weeks, my daughter is now 6 months and a small amount of milk still comes out

If you mean the bleeding you have after birth, this can last up to six weeks.  Whatever you do, don't use tampons at this time, you must use pads.

Also, it can take up 3 weeks for your milk to dry up.

Ask your doctor...they might be able to give you some medication to help dry up the breast milk if you aren't nursing.

About the bleeding...everyone is different.  I was different with  all 4 of my kids!  I would just say that it will be between 4-12 weeks!  I know that's a large span, but it's true.  Good luck hun!

i had it for almost 6 weeks and my son is now 2 months. the milk is still not completly dried up
