  1. Nine months

  2. we had 10 months to plan our wedding and it was PERFECT. we didn't hire a wedding planner at all and my sister did our flowers and my hubbys friend did the cake =)

  3. 4 months and it was beautiful, every thing came out just like we planed it.

  4. We were able to book things eight months after we were engaged, so we had that long. We were in a small city, so had to book the priest/church, venue and caterer that far ahead of time. Sometimes you can't book for a year, though, depending upon where you live.

Eight months was plenty of time to plan a traditional wedding for about 200 guests.

  5. Seriously, 1 year is a long time. My wife and I planned our wedding in six months and it was everything we wanted and within our budget. We did pretty much all of it ourselves and was all organised with next to nothing to do a week before hand.

If you want over the top then I am sure you want to give it two years, but I think if you are organised and have some help you can EASILY do it much less time.

  6. Actual planning, probably 3 months. But most of the time you will need longer than that to be able to reserve the hall and professionals you will use.

  7. Well I was engaged for 18 months, and pretty much started looking for vendors/places right away.  The last thing I looked for was the gown, which was only 5 months before. I know, kind of backwards.

  8. Well never been married but.. it took my cousin 2 yr and still she wasnt ready for it but yeah... start saving! And plus the women side always pays ;)

  9. Over a year...

  10. Technically, I've been planning it since I was about 7 years old, so about 24 years.

The actual doing of it only takes about 3-6 months.

But that is planning - you really need to check on booking your place way before that. Just in case.

    :)

  11. It took me 4 1/2 months--that's how long I was engaged.

  12. well I plan weddings for a living and if you want a perfect wedding you should start planning 2 years in advance but you could do it in 1year but you'll be pushing it.

  13. One year is all we needed. We knew exactly what we wanted to do. And everything turned out beautiful.

  14. It only took about 9 months. We initially thought it would take a year, but  we had more than enough time. It is only 3 more months till our wedding, and all we are doing is relaxing since we did all the hard work in the first 9 months.

  15. It took us 7 months to plan our wedding.  Aside from having a hard time finding a reception hall, the rest can be done in that short of amount of time.  You don't need 2 years to plan.

  16. It only took me 7 months, but I've always thought about things that I liked and wanted to include. It was the perfect setting, flowers, food, music, everything.

  17. My husband and I planned our wedding within 7 months and I changed my mind a lot.

Plus, we were both in high school during the planning and we did everything ourselves.

It was kind of crazy and I wouldn't recommend it. But it wasn't horrible. It was everything I dreamed of and I loved it!

So, if you are both creative or get a wedding planner... it can be done quickly. Its all up to you.

  18. Roughly about 18 months to two years. I had some ideas of what I wanted but some things did change along the way. Also planning for us over time allowed us to pay for things gradually instead of coming up with a large amount of money all at once.

Sure I could have planned our wedding much quicker if I had all the money at once but I also wouldn't have gotten to enjoy all of it without a ton of stress. It worked for us this way! :)
