How long did your Gerbils or Hamsters live? Did you buy them from a pet store or a breeder? (Which pet store?)

I had a female Gerbil a while ago and she didn't live for very long at all, 6 months probably, and I got her from PETCO, so I was wondering what the life span generally was from a breeder or different pet stores. Thanks!

I have two female gerbils from PetSmart. I've had them for 6 months, as of yesterday. They're still healthy and strong.

Hamester's and Guinea Pig's dont really liveb 2 long. If Your intrested in a long lasting pet get a Chinchilla.
