Question:

How long do Australian Working Holiday Visas take to process?

I just applied for my working holiday visa yesterday (July 10th 2008). I have booked flights to Australia for the 14th of August...will I have my visa on time?

How will i know when I have been accepted (or rejected :s )

Do I get an email, or something like a credit card saying i have a visa,or what?

What would be considered the average wait time?

Thanks

  1. It depends to some extent on where you come from as working holiday visas from some countries are subject to quotas. If the quota for your country hasn't been reached it usually takes only a week or so. I think you get a letter, but that probably varies from country to country too as I believe that Americans (and perhaps some others) can be notified by email.

  2. long !!!

  3. You should get your visa in a couple of weeks but it depends on how busy the consulate is.  The best thing to do is ring the Australia House you submitted your application to and ask how long processing is currently taking.  You should have done this before booking your ticket really but you shouldn't have a problem.

  4. 14th August which year?

    .... i'll get my coat.
