Question:

How long do I have to grow after my period?

I was going through puberty too early, so my mom talked to a doctor who specializes in the field. She told me to take Luprin (or something like that..) shots every month to help that. I took Luprin for almost three years, and stopped taking the shots when I was 11, and got my period 5 month AFTER my 12th birthday. I know I won't have as much time to grow as other girls, but does anyone have an estimate to how long I do have?

  1. wow, that's got to be tough.

Women grow all through there teen years and sometimes even into their early twenties.

My sister got her period at age 15 and she is 19 now, and her b***s are still growing and she gets a little taller about ever 1/2 year.

  2. Who knows what effect that drug could've had on your growth.

Normally, there is no line of when growth will stop.  There is no pattern to follow, there is no clues.  Just somewhere, between the ages of 13-25, people stop growing.  That's the only real narrowing down we have.

That drug messed with your hormones if it staled puberty, so there are several effects it could have.  You could end up growing a lot more than average, or not at all.  I'm not expert on hormones though.  So nothing might happen.  Just wait it out and see how things go.

  3. Generally, you continue to grow for approximately 1 year after you start getting your period. Everyone is a little different, so you won't really know for sure until you stop growing.

  4. Ask your doctor. you will probably be as tall as your mom or your grandmoms.
