Question:

How long do I have to wait for a package from canada?

ok, the skim version. My buddy in Nova Scotia sent me a package via canada post. It left Canada on july 17, how much longer do I gotta wait? I'm in bradford, PA 16701. NS is about 1500 miles away from us.

  1. The real answer is that there is no way to tell.  It depends on how long the package gets held up in US customs.  The time there can vary greatly.  I have received packages from Canada in the US in as little as 7 days and sometimes a similar package from the same address to the same destination took more than three weeks.  There really does not seem to be any logic to it.


  2. Overseas is about 10 days so US should be a lot faster. Are you sure he sent it when he said he did? Is there any possibility that it could be held up by customs - any possibility that he added something that will get them looking into it? Any possibility that he has an incorrect address on it?  I would be in touch with him and checking on all those possibilities. If they are all ok maybe he can have the post office  track it down.
