How long do I have to wait for dental insurance to get my crowns??

I suppose to get 2 crowns and we told that to insurance on Febuary & its already April!!!

people who had this problem, how long did you wait??

can I get them any faster??

  1. No, you can't get them any faster and still have the insurance cover them.

    The waiting period will vary by company. The plans that I'm aware of the waiting period for full benefits can be 12 to 36 months. Some plans will have shorter or no waiting period but will only pay 10% or so of the cost.

    Most, but not all, plans have a deductible and then crowns will be covered at 50% after the waiting period.


  2. Many insurers have waiting periods on new policies before certain procedures are covered.  Check your policy terms.

  3. If it's a private policy, it can be a year, or even more. No one here can possibly know - you'll have to read your policy, or call the company.

    BTW, usually it will pay HALF of the cost of the crowns.  Good luck,  the last two I got I ended up out of pocket - after insurance - $1400.
